The apple ipod

For me the ipod video is the perfect learning tool considering the target of the type of student that learns better with this method fits my description as a learner. The ipod has become a great trend in the market of technology it has been innovated to meet the ever growing demand of today's society. The ipod would be the perfect learning tool for me because my habits meet the standard to which the learning process built with the ipod was designed.

If ipods take over in the learning process then perhaps i will be at an advantage but there will still be some disadvantages to this. Like some people i like to procrastinate when i work and often take a longer break then i intend to do. With the other features in an ipod it is easy to entertain yourself. As a student who procrastinates a lot, i could easily turn away from studying to watch a movie clip and perhaps listen to music instead of bothering with a seminar. However there is a silver lining to this as this device saves you from a lot of hassle when it comes to seminar simply because you'll be in control of what goes on. You are able to pace yourself and not have to hesitate to comprehend any misinterpreted information being taught by rewinding and playing the seminar more than once to clarify for yourself. That way you will be at an advantage compared to people who don't take advantage of the ipod.

The way the ipod should really be judged as a good learning tool is the person using the ipod and for what it's worth, i would probably consider using this as an excuse to consider parents to buy this for me.

Journal entry 1 With the Good comes the bad

Pros and cons of communication technology

Communication technology is manifested in different forms and these forms can vary from cells phones, pagers, internet and whatnot. These have impacted society greatly and have opened up new opprtunities in our lives. Everyday we see the pros and cons of communication technology and companies follow the trends of urban communnities and target consumers based on their census. This provides for us in many ways in which we sometimes forget to realize the negative effect that is taking action.

An example of communication technology are cellphones. This mobile device has become a trend with its wide variety of applications. This innovation from the telephone has presented much impact in our lives from businesses to teenagers. With cellphones we are able to communnicate almost anywhere in the world, we can also organize our daily schedule plans and can entertain us with its many features. Some of these features been taken from other forms of technology like cameras and mp3 players which slowly replaces the need for that specific device when it is included in a cellphone, so intentionally we save money. Disadvantages also come with cellphones some of which include the services that we use with cellphones to help us communicate. Some people complain about bad reception because of the landscape and environment interrupting the process. There is also health risks due to the radiation that is emmitted from cell phones. Concentration when in a situation like driving is reduced from talking in a cell phone and has caused many accidents over time. The next example is the internet and has become the most popular in communication technology from its discovery. The internet allows us to communnicate in various ways like e-mail and webcam chat. Through the internet we can access other people's infromation and share their's and even our own with the entire world. The sharing of files however, opens us up to an invasion of privacy and causes some form of harm to us whether it be physical or emotional.

In conclusion communnication technology has different views from which it can be seen and that where good things come bad things come as well.
